SH 151 Ramps Closed in Daytime Hours Between Potranco and Cable Ranch Through Nov. 6 (T.W.A. NEWS)

West Side drivers lose their usual on-and-off points on State Highway 151 this week. TxDOT closure reporting read by the Traffic Desk Tuesday morning shows daytime closures blocking the entrance and exit ramps along SH 151 between FM 1957 (Potranco Road) and Cable Ranch Road, roughly four-tenths of a mile west of Loop 410 — a stretch spanning mile markers 482 to 484.

The work zone runs during daytime hours only. It began Monday, Oct. 26, at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to conclude Friday, Nov. 6, by 3 p.m. Traffic crews have posted designated detour routes around the ramp blockages, and the highway's main lanes continue to flow without major standing delays — but drivers who enter or exit between Potranco and Cable Ranch have to use alternate access points until the ramps reopen each day.

A second ramp closure sits on the region's southwest commute path: the northbound I-35 entrance ramp from SH 173 and the frontage road near Devine, at mile marker 124 in Medina County, is closed for ramp reconstruction through about 7 p.m. on Nov. 5, with a signed detour sending drivers southbound to SH 132 for the turnaround into northbound I-35. The I-35 main lanes there remain open. The desk advises checking DriveTexas.org before either trip.
