Loop 1604 and I-10 Trade Nights This Weekend: Frontage Roads Close 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the Northwest Interchange
TxDOT is planning multiple closures at the Loop 1604 and Interstate 10 interchange in northwest San Antonio this weekend and through the coming week, with nightly frontage-road closures and daytime work on I-10 between Camp Bullis and De Zavala roads.

Northwest Side drivers get a second major interchange to plan around this weekend. The Texas Department of Transportation is planning multiple closures at the Loop 1604 and Interstate 10 interchange as construction continues there, according to closure reporting published Friday morning.
From Friday, October 23, through early Monday, October 26, the eastbound and westbound Loop 1604 frontage roads will close nightly at the interchange, along with the eastbound I-10 mainlanes at Loop 1604. The weekend closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
The work does not end Monday. Weekday nighttime closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., with additional daytime closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on I-10 frontage roads and mainlanes between Camp Bullis Road and De Zavala Road, as well as on Loop 1604 frontage roads and mainlanes near the interchange. Additional closures will affect eastbound Loop 1604 and I-10 frontage roads, ramps and intersections near La Cantera Parkway, Via La Cantera, UTSA Boulevard and Vance Jackson Road, and some U-turns will close alternately.
Two restrictions are long-term: the left lane of the eastbound I-10 frontage road from La Cantera Parkway to Loop 1604, and the eastbound Loop 1604 entrance ramp after the I-10 interchange, which is permanently closed. TxDOT advises drivers to allow extra travel time and use caution in construction zones, and notes that closure schedules may change because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The Traffic Desk's advice: this interchange work runs on top of the separate full weekend closure of U.S. 281 at Loop 1604 — North Side cross-town trips this weekend need a plan before the car starts.
