Friday Traffic: Loop 410 Ramp Closure at U.S. 281 Runs to Saturday Morning; I-35 Frontage Work Midday
The eastbound Loop 410 exit toward San Pedro stays closed until 5 a.m. Saturday, the northbound I-35 frontage road closes midday Friday near Rittiman Road, and overnight I-35 lane work runs through Monday.

North Side drivers get one more night of the Loop 410–U.S. 281 interchange squeeze. TxDOT is keeping the eastbound Loop 410 exit ramp to San Pedro Avenue, McCullough Avenue and Jones Maltsberger Road closed through 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, as crews remove the eastbound 410 entrance ramp at Blanco Road. Two right lanes on I-410 and one left frontage-road lane are also closed.
During the closure, TxDOT directs drivers to continue east on the 410 frontage road past San Pedro and use the next entrance ramp beyond the intersection — and to stay on the frontage road rather than taking the McCullough Avenue flyover.
On the Northeast Side, the northbound I-35 frontage road between Space Center Drive and Rittiman Road closes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday as part of the I-35 expansion, and alternating and overnight lane closures continue along I-35 through Monday, Oct. 26, between Binz-Engleman Road, North Walters Street and Frost Bank Drive. The expansion hit a milestone this week: crews placed the project's 1,000th beam, putting girder installation at 58 percent complete on the southern segment.
The Traffic Desk's advice for the weekend: give the 410/281 interchange a wide berth until Saturday morning, expect midday delays on the I-35 frontage near Rittiman on Friday, and check the live traffic panel on twanews.com before heading across town.
