US 90 Westbound Closes Between I-410 and Loop 1604 for Striping, and the 1604 Flyover to US 90 East Is Shut Until Sunday Morning

A second, separate work zone takes the southwest side's main highway this weekend. All westbound main lanes of US 90 are closed from just east of I-410 to just west of Loop 1604 for active roadway striping operations, according to the TxDOT closure listings carried in this cycle's traffic reports, read this run: the complete main-lane closure began at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, and is estimated to conclude by 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, with an official detour established to route traffic around the work zone while crews lay pavement markings.

The interchange itself is cut as well. The direct connector flyover ramp from southbound Loop 1604 to eastbound US 90 is completely closed for the same striping work on the eastbound US 90 main lanes — from about six-tenths of a mile north of US 90 to just north of the interchange — on the same schedule: work began at 9:00 p.m. Friday and the ramp is scheduled to remain closed until approximately 5:00 a.m. Sunday, November 1. Drivers who use the 1604-to-90 flyover as their southwest-side route will be detoured at the surface instead.

A third closure runs on the east side at the same time: the eastbound I-10 main lanes are fully closed between FM 78 and State Highway 123, from about half a mile east of FM 78 to east of SH 123, for road construction — a closure that began at 9:00 p.m. Friday and is estimated to run until about noon on Saturday, October 31, the listings said. None of these is the Loop 1604/I-10 interchange closure this station has covered all weekend (SQ-20261030-069) — that work continues on its own nightly schedule through Monday. Halloween Saturday drivers crossing town in either direction should pick their detour before they leave: the southwest side loses US 90 westbound and its flyover until Sunday morning, and the east side loses I-10 eastbound until Saturday noon.
