One of Halloween weekend's outdoor parties will not happen on Halloween weekend. CumbiaWeen, the Halloween-themed cumbia celebration scheduled for Friday night at Sunken Garden Theater in Brackenridge Park, has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 14, 2026, due to inclement weather, according to All of San Antonio's report on the organizers' announcement, read in full this cycle. 'Due to the inclement weather, CumbiaWeen at Sunken Garden Theater has been rescheduled from this evening to Saturday, November 14,' organizers announced, adding: 'We hope everyone stays safe and dry out there!'

The event, presented by Disco Alfresco with support from the Brackenridge Park Conservancy, was built as an all-ages outdoor dance party: a live psychedelic cumbia performance by Gio Chamba, a DJ set by Ella Ella, a lowrider trunk-or-treat for children, Halloween decorations and a local vendor marketplace, the report said. Whether that lineup, the activities and the event hours carry to November 14 has not been announced — organizers said additional programming details will be released during the first week of November, and updated ticketing policy, including whether tickets transfer to the new date or refunds are available, has not yet been released. Tickets for the original date were offered at $15 in a limited release and $25 regular admission, with children under 15 admitted free.

The venue keeps its own long history regardless of the date. Sunken Garden Theater, at 3875 North St. Mary's Street inside Brackenridge Park, was carved into a limestone quarry during the 1930s and has hosted generations of concerts and community gatherings, including the San Antonio Symphony and the Civic Opera, the report noted. CumbiaWeen's crowd will get the same room — two weeks later, and, the forecast suggests, in drier air.
