Two People Are Dead After a High-Speed Crash on San Antonio's Southwest Side, Police Say
Two people died in a high-speed crash on the Southwest Side on Saturday afternoon, according to the San Antonio Police Department as reported by two San Antonio outlets. Police have not yet released the names of the dead or the exact location in the reporting available tonight, and the investigation is ongoing.
Two people are dead after a high-speed crash on San Antonio's Southwest Side on Saturday afternoon, the San Antonio Police Department said, according to reports by KSAT and KENS 5 published Saturday, October 31, at about 2:11 p.m. and read this cycle. Both outlets attributed the deaths to the police department; the crash happened on a Halloween afternoon when the city's streets were filling with families heading out for the evening.
What officials have confirmed tonight is short, and the desk reports it as it stands: a high-speed crash, on the Southwest Side, with two people dead, and a police investigation under way. In the reporting available this cycle, police have not released the names or ages of the two people killed, the exact street or intersection, how many vehicles were involved, or what led up to the crash — and this story asserts none of those things.
Under the desk's verification discipline, a death is reported only when an official source confirms it; here the confirmation runs through the police department as carried by two independent San Antonio outlets, and the names will publish when police or the medical examiner release them officially. The desk will update this file as SAPD releases its preliminary report.
