President Donald Trump brought the midterm campaign's final Friday night to Daytona Beach, Florida, rallying supporters at the Ocean Center for Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds and U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal's live coverage, read in full this cycle. The Ocean Center holds 9,300 seats; doors opened at 3:30 p.m., the rally program began at 5 p.m., and Trump, scheduled to speak at 7 p.m., was running at least 45 minutes behind as his motorcade made its way from Daytona Beach International Airport, with the Federal Aviation Administration's temporary flight restrictions in place from 5 to 11 p.m. The News-Journal's headline at his arrival called it a packed house.

For Texas readers, the night's sharpest moment came on the video screen: Trump showed clips of Democratic candidates and politicians — including Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, Rep. Ilhan Omar and Sherrod Brown — making statements on police funding, transgender rights and immigration policy, and he also criticized Florida Democrats David Jolly and Angie Nixon, the News-Journal reported. Talarico, who leads Republican Ken Paxton in the late polls this station has covered this week, was being attacked by the president in Florida on the same night he closed his own campaign in Texas.

The warm-up speakers set the races' terms in their own words. Donalds told the crowd, 'In four short days, I'm going to be your next governor,' and called Jolly, a former Republican, a 'fraud' and a 'Jolly come lately.' Moody, appointed to the Senate seat in 2025 to succeed Marco Rubio and now seeking election to it, said of Nixon, 'We have an actual communist on the ballot,' citing her opponent's affiliation with the Democratic Socialists of America and her statements on Cuba's government — characterizations carried here as the speakers' own. Trump was interrupted at least three times by protesters, the News-Journal reported, including one wearing a 'Release the Files' shirt in reference to the Epstein files. A separate report Friday said the president's canceled Kansas and Iowa weekend rallies had been reinstated less than a day after the Republican National Committee switched them to tele-rallies — a schedule detail the White House and the RNC have not publicly detailed in full, carried here as that report's account. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
