San Antonio DPS Trooper Assigned to the Alamo Faces a DWI Charge After an Off-Duty Arrest in New Braunfels
Fernando Daniel Gomez, 36, was arrested August 30 on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with an open container, according to Comal County jail records reported by KSAT; the Department of Public Safety says he was off duty when New Braunfels police pulled him over.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper assigned to the Alamo area in San Antonio faces a charge of driving while intoxicated with an open container after an off-duty arrest in New Braunfels, KSAT reported Tuesday. Comal County Jail records show New Braunfels police arrested Fernando Daniel Gomez, 36, on August 30.
Gomez was off duty when he was pulled over, DPS told KSAT. The charge is an allegation that will work through Comal County's courts; no outcome in the case has been reported.
The arrest came to light this week through KSAT's reporting on the jail records and the department's confirmation of Gomez's assignment, nearly two months after the August stop. The reporting did not announce any change in his duty status.
