Tim Duncan Waits in Line Like Everybody Else: The Spurs Legend Was Spotted Early Voting at a Northside ISD Site
A Spurs fan spotted Hall of Famer Tim Duncan waiting patiently in an early-voting line at a Northside Independent School District voting spot, as the Spurs organization urges San Antonio to vote before early voting ends Friday.
The most famous voter in San Antonio this week did not cut the line. Spurs great Tim Duncan was spotted waiting patiently in an early-voting line at a voting spot in the Northside Independent School District, in a fan account reported by Spurs In Focus on Thursday. Fan Ashly Shinde shared the sighting on Threads, writing, "Tim Duncan showin up to vote?! Just casual San Antonio things."
Duncan — an NBA MVP, an NBA champion and a Basketball Hall of Famer — was voting in the November 3 midterm election, for which early voting across Texas began Monday, October 19. His appearance is the local face of a turnout story this station has tracked all week: Bexar County set a non-presidential first-day record, and early voting statewide has passed 5.7 million ballots.
The Spurs organization is pushing the same message. Guards De'Aaron Fox and Jordan McLaughlin have shared videos encouraging San Antonio residents to make a plan to vote, with the team's Spurs Way account reminding fans, "Your voice matters, Spurs Fam!" Early voting ends Friday, October 30, at 7 p.m. at Bexar County sites; anyone in line when polls close can still vote, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
