San Antonio's Other Pro Team Tips Off Sunday: Texas Seraphim Open the ABA Season at OLLU for $10
The Texas Seraphim begin their 2026-27 American Basketball Association season at home Sunday afternoon — 3 p.m. against the Lafayette Ballers at Our Lady of the Lake's Mabee Gym, with doors at 2 and tickets at $10.

San Antonio's basketball Sunday is not only about the Spurs' off day. The Texas Seraphim, the city's American Basketball Association team, open their 2026-27 season at home on Sunday, October 25, against the Lafayette Ballers, according to the team's opening-game announcement. Tip-off is 3 p.m. Central at OLLU Mabee Gym, 411 SW 24th St., with doors at 2 p.m. and admission at $10 a ticket.
The Seraphim are an independent professional team built around players still chasing a next level — the organization is led by Adam E. Salyer, its CEO, owner and head coach, and its own sponsorship materials describe an organization with 11 seasons and four division titles, with a history of helping athletes move on to international and G League opportunities, according to 750 Music Network's October 20 account of the opener, read in full this run. The team's recent home results on its own site have also come at Mabee Gym, its West Side home court.
Tickets carry a community option as well: fans buying through the team's ticket page can choose a fundraiser option that directs 50 percent of the ticket toward the Whitney Presas Weddel Scholarship Fund, which benefits students in the ECISD Career and Technical Education Health Professions classes, at no additional cost, according to the ticket-page explanation carried in that account. For a basketball city with no Spurs game until Tuesday, Sunday afternoon offers a $10 seat, a small gym and a home team starting a new season.
