Texans Force Overtime, Then Fall 27-21 to the Giants on Singletary's Walk-Off Run
Houston tied the game with 52 seconds left in regulation, but Devin Singletary's 30-yard overtime touchdown against his former team gave New York a 27-21 win in Houston on Sunday.

The Houston Texans came all the way back on Sunday afternoon, and it still was not enough. Devin Singletary ran for a 30-yard touchdown in overtime to defeat his former team and give the New York Giants a 27-21 victory in Houston, according to the Reuters game account read in full by the Sports Desk. Houston falls to 2-5 on the season, while New York improves to 4-2-1.
Overtime turned on two runs. After the Texans' first overtime possession ended in a punt — Kayvon Thibodeaux dropped a possible interception on second down — Giants quarterback J.J. McCarthy flipped a short completion to Malik Nabers for nine yards and Cam Skattebo broke a 42-yard run to the Houston 30. With New York lining up to center the ball for a possible field goal, McCarthy handed to Singletary on a draw and he broke free for the winning touchdown. McCarthy, in his debut start for the Giants, completed 20 of 28 passes for 252 yards; Skattebo carried 17 times for 124 yards, Singletary five times for 41, and Nabers caught seven passes for 111 yards.
Houston had forced the extra period the hard way. Running back Woody Marks, who had limped to the medical tent with an apparent left leg injury, carried the Texans down the field late — a 15-yard catch and a seven-yard run to the Giants' 15 at the two-minute warning — and on third-and-3 at the 3, C.J. Stroud scrambled right and hit Xavier Hutchinson for the touchdown that tied the game at 21 with 52 seconds remaining. Stroud finished 17 of 28 for 153 yards and two touchdowns, Marks carried 19 times for 66 yards, and tight end Dalton Schultz caught five passes for 45 yards. Earlier, Houston's only first-half points were Ka'imi Fairbairn field goals of 58 and 57 yards, and Marvin Harrison Jr.'s six-yard touchdown catch tied the game at 14 late in the third quarter.
