San Antonio's jet-engine plant has added another European airline to its order book. StandardAero announced it has been selected by Air Corsica to provide CFM International LEAP-1A engine Performance Restoration Shop Visit services for the carrier's Airbus A320neo fleet, with the work performed at StandardAero's facility in San Antonio. The agreement covers restoration shop visits, quick-turn shop visits, component repairs, short-term engine leases and engine health monitoring data analysis.

The San Antonio site is the center of the company's LEAP work: an 810,000-square-foot facility operating as a CFM LEAP Premier MRO provider since it signed the first non-airline CFM Branded Service Agreement in the Americas for the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B in March 2023. The plant has provided LEAP quick-turn services since March 2024 and completed correlation of its first LEAP test cell in November 2024, clearing the way for the full restoration visits Air Corsica is now buying. Across its component-repair network, the company says it has industrialized more than 475 component repairs for the LEAP family, and it grows its technician bench locally through its in-house Aviation Mechanic Training Program at its San Antonio Training Academy.

Air Corsica, the regional airline of Corsica founded in 1989, already knew the San Antonio operation: StandardAero has serviced its ATR regional turboprops, including the new-generation ATR 72-600 fleet, in a relationship dating to 2023. 'As we continue modernizing with the Airbus A320neo, extending our collaboration to include LEAP-1A engine support is a logical progression of that long-standing relationship,' Air Corsica Technical Director Jean Luc Moine said in the company's announcement.
