Spurs Come Home on a Three-Game Win Streak: Minnesota Visits the Frost Bank Center on Saturday Night
San Antonio, 3-2 after Wednesday's 117-111 overtime win at Utah behind Victor Wembanyama's 36 points and 14 rebounds, hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. at the Frost Bank Center.
The Spurs come home with momentum. San Antonio rallied past the short-handed Utah Jazz 117-111 in overtime in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night - the team's third straight win - improving to 3-2 on the young season after trailing by 11 and by 55-51 at halftime.
Victor Wembanyama led the way with 36 points and 14 rebounds, 21 of them in the first half, and Devin Vassell added 21 points, including 17 in the second half. Utah, playing without Jaren Jackson, Lauri Markkanen and Jusuf Nurkic, got a season-high 31 points from Keyonte George and tied the game late in regulation, but San Antonio answered a Brice Sensabaugh 3-pointer to open overtime with a decisive 12-0 run and held the Jazz to 2-for-7 shooting in the extra period.
The homestand opener is next: the Spurs host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. CDT at the Frost Bank Center, on the schedule the Sports Desk read this run. It is San Antonio's first home game since the road win, and the first of a home stretch that continues with Utah's return visit on Monday, Nov. 2, and Dallas on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
The desk will file from the Frost Bank Center on Saturday night, with the game story due within 45 minutes of the final whistle under the desk's standing cadence.
