SAISD Employees Get Data-Breach Notices After a Breach at Vendor Frontline Education; the District Says No Student Records Were Involved (T.W.A. NEWS)

San Antonio Independent School District employees are receiving data-breach notifications tied to a security incident at Frontline Education, the district's third-party workforce-management vendor. SAISD notified its employees of the incident on Oct. 6, and Frontline began sending direct notifications to affected employees on Oct. 26, according to local reporting on the district's notices; the district says no student records were involved. A dedicated support line for affected staff has been published at 1-833-516-8792.

The San Antonio notices are one district's share of a national breach. Frontline's security team identified a vulnerability on Aug. 14, 2026 in a third-party software product it uses, which allowed unauthorized access to part of its environment, according to BleepingComputer's reporting as carried by McAfee's security blog. The exposed information includes school employees' full names, Social Security numbers, email addresses and physical addresses. Frontline began notifying districts on Oct. 1 through notices managed by CyberScout, and complimentary credit monitoring and identity-protection services are being offered to those affected; the company has not publicly disclosed how many districts or individuals are affected in total.

For SAISD staff, the practical steps are the ones in the notice itself: read the letter and keep its enrollment instructions and deadlines, monitor financial accounts and credit histories for anything unrecognized, and consider a fraud alert or credit freeze — a freeze is free and can be placed with each credit bureau. Staff who did not receive a letter but believe their information may have been held by Frontline can use the published support line to ask. The desk will follow up with the district on how many SAISD employees were notified.
