Local Nonprofit Works to Find Homes for Rescue Pets
Volunteers are working weekends to match rescue pets with San Antonio families.

Every weekend, volunteers across San Antonio open the shelter doors with one goal: matching rescue pets with families who will love them for life.
In this T.W.A. News video report, we meet the volunteers behind one local nonprofit's adoption push — and a few of the dogs, from a patient golden mix to a scruffy terrier with a big personality, who are still waiting for a couch of their own.
The group says adoptions climb when the community shows up in person, so they have taken the show on the road with weekend events at parks across the city.
Adoption fees cover vaccinations, spay and neuter services and a first vet visit, and the nonprofit offers foster-to-adopt options for families who want to make sure the fit is right.
Watch the full story above — and if one of those faces stays with you, the group's next adoption event is this weekend.
