Man Shot Outside a Music Venue Near La Cantera Parkway on Halloween Night, SAPD Says (T.W.A. NEWS)

A man was shot outside a music venue near La Cantera Parkway at The Rim just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, Halloween night, according to San Antonio police, in KSAT's account of the incident.

The published account of the police report puts the shooting around 2 a.m. in the 17000 block of La Cantera Parkway on the Northwest Side. Police said a group of people had been kicked out of the business after causing a disturbance, and that one or more people from the group went to their vehicles and began firing shots at the business as they drove away. A 34-year-old man who was standing outside was caught in the gunfire and shot in the lower body; he was taken to a nearby hospital, and his condition has not been released.

No arrests have been announced and the investigation is ongoing, according to the account. Police have not released the man's name, and none is published here. The desk notes for the record that this is a single-victim shooting as police described it; a separate, unverified mass-casualty claim about a Rim-area nightclub circulating on a low-credibility aggregator remains unconfirmed by any official source and is not part of this story.

Dia de los Muertos Sunday in San Antonio: Pearl's Main Celebration and the Esperanza's 31st Annual Procession Through the Westside

San Antonio marked Dia de los Muertos on Sunday at both ends of its tradition: Pearl held its main community celebration — ofrendas, a community altar, live music and its annual procession, free from 5 to 9 p.m. — while the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center staged its 31st annual Dia de Muertos on the Westside, with more than 20 community altars and a 6 p.m. procession to the Alazan-Apache Courts.
