The 19th Annual KTSA Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner Radiothon raised $155,425, according to TALKERS magazine's Oct. 27 report, with staff from Connoisseur Media's News Talk 550 KTSA and FM 107.1 and volunteers taking part in the fundraiser for the long-running San Antonio Thanksgiving dinner.
The money supports the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner, which serves thousands of San Antonio residents a warm meal and a sense of community on Thanksgiving Day, the report said.
KTSA host Trey Ware led the radiothon. "It's such an honor to lead the KTSA Radiothon for the Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner," Ware said, as quoted in the report. "I love giving back to the community that has given so much to my family for 70 years."
The dinner is one of San Antonio's best-known Thanksgiving traditions, and the radiothon is its annual public fundraiser, held weeks ahead of the holiday so the meal can be prepared for the thousands of residents it serves.
