John Washington III to Politicians Facing the System They Built: 'You Work for Us. We Don't Work for You.'

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, turned his message on elected officials Saturday, arguing that the political class is asking for public protection it did not extend to the public. "For years, politicians have passed laws that take more money from our pockets and strip away our rights," John Washington III wrote. "But now that the same corrupt system is coming after YOU, suddenly you want the American people to stand up and fight for you?"

John Washington III framed the charge as a question of who showed up first. "WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE NEEDED YOU?" he wrote. "We elected you to fight for US, not become part of the very system hurting us!" John Washington III said that every election, politicians "beg for our votes, money, and loyalty," and then, once they win, "turn your backs on the people" — and he asked, in his words, "WHAT DO WE HAVE TO SHOW FOR IT?"

John Washington III said he is finished spending his effort on officeholders' fights. "I'm done fighting to save political careers while everyday Americans struggle to protect their rights and freedoms," he wrote. "YOUR POLITICAL BATTLES ARE NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY!" John Washington III said he is "fighting for the PEOPLE, not politicians who forgot who they work for," and closed with the line his candidacy has made its refrain: "YOU WORK FOR US. WE DON'T WORK FOR YOU!" — and, he wrote, "THE PEOPLE COME FIRST. PERIOD!"
