Election Day Drive: The Two Long Loop 410 Ramp Closures Are Still in Force Tuesday — Honeysuckle Through Summer 2027, Blanco Through Spring 2028
Voters driving the North Side on Tuesday meet the same Loop 410 map as Monday: the westbound Honeysuckle exit is closed for the better part of a year, and the eastbound Blanco entrance funnels through San Pedro until 2028.

San Antonio's Tuesday drive to the polls runs through two long Loop 410 closures that do not lift for Election Day, in the closure reporting read by the desk this cycle. The westbound Loop 410 exit ramp to Honeysuckle Lane closed Friday, October 30 and is expected to remain closed through summer 2027, as crews rebuild the existing exit ramp and construct a new bridge for the westbound entrance ramp from Blanco Road. Drivers who use the Honeysuckle exit have two signed detours: continue to the West Avenue exit and use the turnaround, or exit at Blanco Road and follow the westbound frontage road to Honeysuckle Lane.
The second closure is the older one on the other side of the same project area. TxDOT closed the eastbound Loop 410 entrance ramp at Blanco Road on October 16 at 9 p.m. to begin demolition work, and that closure is scheduled to run through spring 2028. Drivers are directed along the eastbound frontage road through the San Pedro Avenue intersection to the next available entrance ramp past San Pedro. Both closures belong to the $156 million Loop 410 San Pedro Improvements Project — nine construction segments addressing a corridor with a history of 3.7 daily crashes — and officials expect the finished work to prevent significant commute-time increases projected by 2045.
For Election Day itself, the practical advice is the desk's standing one: allow additional travel time through the Loop 410 corridor, especially in the morning and afternoon rush hours when voters and commuters share the road, follow the posted detours, and check current conditions on TxDOT's DriveTexas site before heading to a vote center. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a driver in line at a vote center by 7 p.m. still votes — but the ramp map will not wait.
