Día de los Muertos at Pearl Opens Tuesday: A Free Week of Ofrendas, Calaveras and Music Through Nov. 3
The Pearl's district-wide Día de los Muertos celebration runs Tuesday through Nov. 3 with artist-curated ofrendas, a community altar, live music and five four-foot calaveras — and it is free.

San Antonio's Día de los Muertos season gets a second home this week. The Pearl opens its district-wide Día de los Muertos celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 27, running through Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Pearl, 303 Pearl Parkway — a free, weeklong series built around remembrance, art and community.
Across the district, visitors will find ofrendas curated by local artists, a community altar, live music and performances, children's activities, local vendors and installations by artists from San Antonio and beyond. The celebration's signature pieces are five four-foot calaveras created by five local artists, each telling a personal story through its design; visitors watched the artists at work during October, and the completed sculptures stand on display from Oct. 23 through Nov. 5.
The Pearl week stretches the city's observance past the weekend's festivals and into the holiday itself, giving families a free, open-air place to visit an altar, hear music and take part through Nov. 3. Details come from the Pearl's event listing as carried in the San Antonio events guide the Local News Desk read Tuesday morning; the desk advises checking the Pearl's event page before heading out, as outdoor programming can shift with the weather — Thursday and Friday carry the week's highest rain chances.
