Monday Night Inactives: Barkley Is Active for the Eagles, Turpin Is Out for the Cowboys in Philadelphia (T.W.A. NEWS)

PHILADELPHIA — The inactives are in for Monday Night Football, and they tell the story of two 2-4 teams trying to stop a slide. The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles kick off at 7:15 p.m. CT at Lincoln Financial Field, with Dallas having dropped two straight and Philadelphia four straight.

Philadelphia's biggest name is back: running back Saquon Barkley is active for tonight's game. Barkley missed the Eagles' last two games, against Jacksonville and Carolina, after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles still take the field short-handed: wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, linebacker Nolan Smith, defensive back Michael Carter II and lineman Jake Majors are inactive, and quarterback Jalen Hurts remains on injured reserve, leaving Tanner McKee to start for the second straight game.

Dallas gets defensive help back, with linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and cornerback Cobie Durant returning with no injury designations. The Cowboys' inactives are receiver and return man KaVontae Turpin, running back Emari Demercado, linebacker Dee Winters, edge rusher Tyrus Wheat and offensive tackle Drew Shelton. Rookie receiver Brown is active and in line for his NFL debut, with edge rusher James Houston also active.

This station previewed the matchup on Sunday (Cowboys take 2-4 to Philadelphia for Monday night). Tonight's question is whether Dallas, favored on the road, can protect the football against an Eagles team that has lost four in a row with a gutted offense — or whether Barkley's return gives Philadelphia enough to hold its home field.
