Brewers Rout the Rays 10-1 in World Series Game 3 and Stand One Win From Their First Title
Milwaukee scored eight runs in the fifth inning — all with two outs — behind Jackson Chourio's four hits and Robert Gasser's one-hit start to take a 3-0 Series lead.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Milwaukee Brewers are one victory from their first World Series title after routing the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night in Game 3, the Associated Press reported. Milwaukee ripped 16 hits, held Tampa Bay to three, and took a 3-0 lead in the Series; on the 25 previous occasions a team took a 3-0 World Series lead, all 25 went on to win the championship.
The game broke open in the fifth inning. Jackson Chourio bookended Milwaukee's eight-run fifth with two of his four hits on the night — he has eight hits in three Series games — and Brice Turang's two-run single opened the scoring barrage, which came entirely with two outs, a World Series first, according to USA Today's game account. 'He was tremendous. Locked in. Gives us a big lift,' Brewers manager Pat Murphy said of Chourio, the AP reported.
Rookie left-hander Robert Gasser pitched one-hit ball and faced the minimum through six innings, the AP reported, becoming the first starter to face the minimum 18 batters through six innings of a World Series game since Arizona's Curt Schilling in 2001. Game 4 is Tuesday night at Tropicana Field, where Tampa Bay will try to keep its season alive.
