Mail Ballot Applications Are Due Today — Your Friday Voting Guide (T.W.A. NEWS)

If you plan to vote by mail in the November 3 election, today is the deadline: applications for a ballot by mail must be received by the Bexar County early voting clerk by Friday, October 23 — received, not postmarked, under the City Clerk's official election calendar.

Voting in person is simpler. Any registered Bexar County voter can vote early at any of the county's 58 early voting sites, including the main location at the Bexar County Elections Department, 1103 S. Frio St., and the H-E-B Student Union Bexar Room on UT San Antonio's Main Campus. Hours for the rest of the run: Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday noon to 6 p.m., and Monday through Friday of next week (Oct. 26–30) 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Bring an approved photo ID. Electronic devices are not allowed within 100 feet of a polling place, but printed voter guides are welcome in the booth — a good idea this year, because the ballot is long and, thanks to the congressional districts Texas redrew in 2025, many San Antonio voters are voting in a different U.S. House district than in 2024.

What you are deciding: a U.S. Senate seat, all 38 Texas seats in the U.S. House, governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and other statewide offices, 16 of the 31 Texas Senate seats and all 150 Texas House seats, county and judicial offices — and, for San Antonio voters, the reauthorization of the Pre-K 4 SA sales and use tax. Sample ballots and your registration status are available from the Bexar County Elections Department and the Texas Secretary of State.
