The Texas governor's race enters its final days on a flood of money. Gov. Greg Abbott raised $26 million from September 25 through October 24 — the highest total he has posted in any reporting period this cycle — according to the new campaign finance reports as reported by the Texas Tribune and carried by the San Antonio Current, read in full this cycle. By comparison, Abbott raised $8.8 million over the same period in his 2022 campaign against Beto O'Rourke, whom he beat by more than 11 points. Democrat Gina Hinojosa raised $17.5 million and spent $19.1 million in the same four weeks, both her highest totals of the cycle, the Tribune reported.

Abbott also spent heavily — $35.8 million in the month, more than $1 million a day, mostly on television ads, the Tribune reported. Nearly one-fifth of his latest haul came from Elon Musk, the reports show; other large donors in the period included Nike co-founder Phil Knight at $2.5 million and investment manager Kenneth Fisher at $2 million. Hinojosa's top donors included Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and the Democratic Governors Association, each giving $1 million, the Tribune reported.

Across the full year since Hinojosa launched her campaign on October 15, 2025, Abbott has outspent her nearly eight to one — $281 million to $36.8 million, according to the filings as compiled in the Tribune's reporting — and his spending this cycle more than doubles his $131 million outlay in 2022. The reports filed Monday were the final full reports due before Election Day, apart from daily disclosures of donations in the final week. Every figure in this file is carried as the Tribune's account of the campaigns' filings.
