San Antonio's Halloween Weekend Guide: Zoo Boo's Final Day, Don Romo's Conjunto Halloween Fest, and 36 Trunk-or-Treats

Halloween lands on a Saturday, October 31, this year, and San Antonio's family calendar is built around it. The San Antonio Zoo's Zoo Boo — the family-friendly Halloween celebration that has run since September 19 — reaches its final day Saturday at the zoo, 3903 N. St. Mary's Street in Brackenridge Park. Zoo Boo is included with standard zoo admission, with trick-or-treating, live entertainment, animal encounters and themed activities offered on select dates through the run's close, according to the event listings read this cycle.

The weekend's signature local bill is on the South Side: Don Romo's Halloween Fest 2026 brings five conjunto acts — De Parranda, Los Garcia Bros., Ricky Naranjo y Los Gamblers, The Delta Boyz and Conjunto Romo — to Rancho 181, 13514 U.S. 181, on Saturday, presented by Ejay and Victoria Romo and Romo Ranch Productions, according to Tejano Nation's report, read in full this cycle. Doors open at 2 p.m.; beyond the music there are carnival games, food vendors, pony rides and trunk-or-treat activities, costumes are welcome, and children 12 and under are admitted free. Admission is $40 presale and $50 at the door, with VIP options available; outside food and drinks, ice chests and lawn chairs are not permitted, and beer will be available for purchase.

For neighborhood-scale options, area listings count 36 trunk-or-treat events across the San Antonio area between October 30 and November 1, six of them free, including the Bexar County Trunk or Treat at the Bexar County AgriLife Urban Farm. The after-dark end of the weekend belongs to the parks: Fright Fest at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld San Antonio both run their final weekend, with both events scheduled through November 1, according to Visit San Antonio's Halloween listings. Families heading out Saturday night will do it on dry streets — the Weather Desk's evening file has Halloween's rain chance down to 11 percent.
